Temporary Eyeliner Tattoo

Ever wanted a tattoo but are a little nervous as to if you will like the design later on in life or are unsure of where exactly you want something to go FOREVER (said in Spongebob voice.)?

Well have no fear! Temporary eyeliner tattoos are here!!

I was super bored a few days ago at home and was browsing Youtube looking for a tutorial on how to draw bee's and honeycombs for a makeup project that I am working on (more to come on that later.) Anyways I somehow stumbled upon all these videos of people drawing temporary tattoos on them using eyeliner! I immediately ran to my makeup drawer and pulled out all of my old liquid eyeliner that I don't use. I then went to my Pinterest board of tattoo ideas and went to town!

I seriously suggest trying this out if you are in between a few designs or placement areas. I was probably having a little too much fun with this but I honestly can't remember the last time I sat down to actually draw something! It has to be back in art class in high school, or really any other class in high school (I wasn't a very good student, head in the clouds and doodles as notes.)

I also suggest when looking at tattoo ideas remember you are just looking for IDEAS. Always try out some kind of personal spin on a tattoo you may see on the internet and love. It will bring so much joy to you knowing you either designed the entire thing or part of it. I have a few tattoos and they are all pulled from things I saw on the internet. Either I copied the script but used a quote that hit home to me or I saw a geometric design I loved and added another design from somewhere else on top of it. I like to think I aided in designing the final product but let's be honest... I just joined two already created images together. There is nothing wrong with that and I do not regret a single tattoo I have. I just didn't realize how much joy I would get out of doodling on my skin with eyeliner & black eyeshadow. I have now taken a million images of what I drew and will one day take it to a tattoo artist cough, cough Aaron from Rise Above Tattoo to have him recreate it forever.

So when starting this mini art projection, I again referenced Pinterest. I started with a bare arm. No moisturizers, nothing. Then I took a deep breath and dove right in! It was semi liberating and I did mess up a few times and of course I wish some lines were straighter but that's the beauty of it, it's not permanent. Once I doodled and liked what I had. I then took an eye-shadow brush and created some shading with black eye-shadow.

So on to real tattoo talk. I make sure if I get a new tattoo idea in my head I sit on it for months. I know that I am constantly changing and developing into my own being and I want to make sure the things I permanently place on my body are not impulse tattoos. Again this is why I suggest tattoos with eyeliner first. Let your creativity flow and see what comes of it. Also if you're balling on a budget... eyeliner is a lot cheaper than tattoos.

The tattoos I currently have, I placed them in specific areas because I wanted to hide them from my parents. When in reality, I would have placed them elsewhere if I had the courage at the time to stand up to the way I enjoy expressing myself. Well lessons learned and my parents have seen some of them and they didn't disown me. SHOCKER, just kidding I def hyped it all up in my head. I knew they wouldn't I just didn't want to disappoint them. Now I am in a bit of different mind set. I still of course never truly want to disappoint my parents but I've grown and learned that this is just a flesh wound (literally and figuratively) to them. This was not the end of the world to them and not that surprising as they figured I would come home from college with a full sleeve anyways. No idea where they every got that idea from. :)

Some people think that getting a boob job enhances your look where as tattoos take away from your look. I am in the mindset of what ever floats your boat. Because your body is not my body and my body is not your body and we all owe it to ourselves to express ourselves however we deem fit for OUR SELF. YOU DO YOU BOO BOO.
